Miranda is a life coach, based in Dallas, Texas, and a practicing Psychologist in Singapore and consults with clientele across Asia through video and text-based counseling. She provides counseling sessions through Therapy Workz! LLP, (Doctor Anywhere Pte. Ltd. in Singapore, and Thoughtfull World Pte. Ltd. She also conducts personality assessment services for individuals who sought to understand their behavioral and attitude at the workplace, personal lives, or when they desire to make an informed career choice.   Miranda started her counseling career as a probation officer in Singapore in 1998, and spent a few years working within the legal system to rehabilitate youths. She continued her counseling career as a psychologist in a private psychiatric ward in Singapore where she was responsible for providing cognitive and psychological assessments, case management individual & group counseling to patients, and their families. Her corporate and international experience began in one of Asia’s leading Employee Assistance Providers where she started as a consultant psychologist and progressed to Practice Director. Miranda worked directly with individual clients and organizations to increase personal and organizational effectiveness.  Subsequently, she relocated to Shanghai to work as an Organizational Development Manager with another Asian based Multinational Corporation.  She has therefore worked on projects across Asia providing counselling, coaching and crisis management services to corporate clients. She is experienced and knowledgeable in the following areas:

Irena is a practicing counselling psychologist, and co-author of the book, “The Undefeated Parent: A guide to managing
children’s stress”. Her current clinical work includes the provision of psychotherapy and psycho-education assessment and intervention services to psychiatric patients of Ang Yong Guan Psychiatry Pte. Ltd. and Counselling, Assessment & Therapy Services Pte Ltd, as well as coaching and counselling services to adult, adolescent and child corporate clients in Human Dynamic Pte Ltd.’s Employee Assistance Programs.  She is also the appointed clinical supervisor of the Nanyang Girls High School student support team.  Irena’s clinical services are provided to these organisations by Therapy Workz! LLP. In addition, she was appointed to the Board of the Catholic Family Life (formerly known as Family Life Society), with the role of overseeing the provision of counselling services, and pregnancy crisis and support, since October 2017.   As an academic, Irena is currently a senior lecturer with the Psychological Studies Academic Group at the National Institute of Education.  She is the Program Leader for the Masters of Arts (Applied Psychology) Program.  Her role comprises training and supervising pre-service teachers, trainee school counsellors, trainee counselling psychologists and trainee educational psychologists.  She also counsels student teachers in crisis, and co-managed the NIE Wellness Centre from January 2007 to June 2016.  Irena has published research in group and online counselling processes, counselling androgogies, and the role of educational hope.  She currently researching motivation interventions to increase school engagement for low-progress adolescents. Prior to her current appointments, Irena worked as a psychologist / counsellor in the adult psychiatric ward of Mount Elizabeth Hospital (2005 to 2006), and with children and adolescents in school and centre-based settings in the Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association (CARE Singapore) (2004 to 2005). In particular, she worked on custody cases with divorcing families for the family court, and counselled at-risk and delinquent adolescents from the normal academic and normal technical streams, as well as those placed in residential rehabilitation programs.   In addition to her clinical experience, Irena has a decade of experience in human resource management and development.  She was an integral part of the teams responsible for ensuring that organizational processes meet international quality assurance standards, such as the Singapore Quality Class (NParks, 2002) and the Joint Commission International Award (Mount Elizabeth Hospital, 2005).
